The U. S. Food and Drug Administration has warned consumers that the popular erectile dysfunction drug Viagra has been linked to dangerous sexual side effects.
The warning is based on an FDA analysis of a study that found that Viagra was the most commonly prescribed medication for the treatment of erectile dysfunction, which is the inability to achieve and maintain a satisfactory erection during sexual activity. The FDA also found that the medication caused more side effects than Viagra.
The study also found that men who took Viagra had a higher risk of erectile dysfunction compared to men who were not on the drug.
A spokesman for the FDA said the agency is evaluating the results of the study as part of its ongoing investigation.
"In our review, we found that the use of Viagra did not increase the risk of erectile dysfunction in men taking the medication or in those who took a higher dose," the company said in a statement.

The first time I ever bought Viagra in Australia was in a small, grey box shop on a block in Melbourne, Victoria, in the late 1990s. I was a little surprised, though, when the little blue pill was released, so quickly that the market was flooded with counterfeit drugs. It was almost three years later that I found myself buying Viagra from a different store, and it quickly became the most famous and sought after medication in Australia. (I have a copy of the Australian Patent Office, though it is a bit of a mess. The patent is being challenged by manufacturers, but it has not expired, so the patent will continue to apply.)
The first time I bought Viagra, I was shocked when, after a visit to the store, I found the medicine was not working. It had dissolved in the water, and I was left with no way to know what was wrong. The tablets were too strong for me to take, so I went to see the pharmacist who put me on the wrong medication. I asked the pharmacist who sold the fake Viagra, and he told me to take it as a tablet and not as a pill. I was still shocked that I bought it from this pharmacy, but I was sure I was getting an authentic product, so I bought the first product I knew and took it to the chemist.
